Practical workshop, November 19-23, 2012
A network-sponsored workshop/practical course in "Quantitative Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics" was held in Odense, Denmark, November 19-23, 2012. The workshop was organized by network member Jens Andersen.

The Second Annual Network Meeting, April 23-25, 2012
The second annual meeting of the Nordic Cilia and Centrosome Network was held on the beautiful island of Hankø, just outside Oslo, on April 23-25, 2012. The meeting was organized by network members Sebastian Patzke and Harald Stenmark, and was attended by a total of 44 network members from 11 different groups. The meeting featured talks by all the groups represented, and two keynote presentations by invited speakers Professor Steven Doxsey from UMass Medical Center, Worcester, USA, and Professor Phil Beales from UCL Institute of Child Health, London, UK. In addition, posters by participating students and postdocs were on display throughout the meeting. Prizes for the 2 best posters, sponsored by the journal Cilia, were awarded to network participants Christian Clement and Karen Koefod (S. T. Christensen lab). The quality of the scientific presentations was impressive and the meeting was characterized by stimulating discussions and a relaxed atmosphere. The First Annual Network Meeting, March 25-27, 2011
The meeting featured talks by all the groups represented, and a keynote presentation by invited speaker Monica Bettencourt-Dias from Instituto Gulbenkian de Cienca in Portugal. In addition, posters by participating students were on display throughout the meeting, and a 2 hour attended poster session was included in the program. Prizes for the 3 best posters, sponsored by the journals Cell Biology International and Cilia, were awarded to network participants Kristiina Tammimies (Juha Kere lab), Ditte Hansen (Pedersen/Christensen lab), and Dorte Egeberg (Pedersen/Christensen lab) following dinner Saturday evening. Sunday morning featured a Technical Workshop where selected network participants gave oral presentations describing special techniques, equipment or facilities in their laboratory/institution, which could be useful to other network members.
